Easy Gingerbread Toffee Sauce

Hot Caramel Apple Cider (simple and easy to make)

2 oz of Le Bon Garcon Spiced Cider Caramel

1 oz of Jack Daniels Whiskey

2.5 cups of apple juice

Le Bon Garcon Hot Caramel Apple CiderPlace 2 oz of Le Bon Garcon Spiced Cider Caramel in a microwave-safe bowl with 1/4 cup of apple juice.  Microwave for 90 seconds.  Mix the caramel and the apple juice together until the caramel dissolves.  Heat the remaining apple juice in the microwave or on the stove.  Add hot apple juice.  Add whiskey.  Serves 2 people.

Pear Tart

I had just back to LA from Berkeley when my brother came up with the idea to take an intensive cooking class at the local cooking school in Westlake Village.  Little did I know that this cooking class would inspire me eventually become a pastry chef and start Le Bon Garcon.  One of the recipes we learned was a recipe for a pear tart.  It was made with brown butter.  As soon as I tasted it, I fell in love with brown butter forever.

Lemon Meringue Pie

My husband, Brian, loves lemon meringue pie. He told me that it is his favorite dessert, so I had to make him one. I had never made a lemon meringue pie, but I had made a lot of lemon tarts. I looked up a bunch of recipes, but I couldn’t find one that I liked. I ended up cobbling together a few recipes and luckily the result was one of the best lemon meringue pies I’ve tasted.

Caramelized Almonds

 

  • 2/3 cup of water
  • 1-1/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 tbsp of honey
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • 8 oz of almonds
  • ½ cup of syrup
  • pinch of cloves
  • pinch of cayenne
