I went to Maison du Pain at the urging of my good friend, Alaine, who lives in the same neighborhood. I'm glad that I made the trip. Maison du Pain is an unassuming place, much like some of the neighborhood boulangeries in Paris.
I ordered the house baguette, the plain baguette, the chocolate croissant, and the raspberry tartlet. Everything I ordered was good, but I was most impressed with the house baguette. It had a nice, open crumb and crunchy exterior. A lot of baguettes are not baked dark enough for my taste, but this one was baked to nutty perfection. Too bad I don't live lose enough to Maison du Pain to go very often.
